A third of workers still do not have a retirement plan, according to a new survey.

The research, carried out on behalf of by Aegon, has found that workers are not setting up a proper financial plan for their retirement.

The survey of 14,400 employees and 1,600 retired people across 15 countries resulted in the following findings:

  • 38% of workers globally do not have a retirement plan
  • 42% of women don’t have a retirement plan
  • 58% said they would include savings in their financial plan.

Many people expect that 46 per cent of their retirement income will come from a government retirement scheme – such as the state pension in the UK.
