Chris making big song and dance about ‘A Circle of Life’

A Lifetime client is making a big song and dance about a forthcoming musical show.

Barnsley man Chris Pearsall is a member of BeVox community choir, who will be putting on their premier event of their autumn-winter 2013 season – ‘A Circle of Life’ – at Elsecar Heritage Centre’s Building 21 on Saturday, December 7.

‘A Circle of Life’ is a journey through life, from beginning to end, told in music, pictures and animation.

The music ranges from ABBA to Alice Cooper, and from Neil Diamond to Pink Floyd.

The whole experience is made more personal to BeVox by the inclusion of hundreds of images from the choir members’ lives – baby photos, wedding photos and pictures of loved ones who have died.

There will also be custom-crafted CGI animations bringing added vibrancy to certain songs.

BeVox was formed in September 2010 and is run by Tim Allen. It had four groups at one time – in Barnsley, Wakefield, Sheffield and Nottingham – but sadly Barnsley was forced to merge with other groups in February 2013.

However, there are still a good number of Barnsley-based singers involved – and the BeVox company has grown to over 200 singers in total. They have put on over 100 performances – and raised well over £20,000 for charity into the bargain.

Said Chris: “It promises to be a wonderful, heart-warming event and it would be great to have as many people there as possible.

“Tim Allen has put a lot of his own money into turning ‘A Circle of Life’ into a reality and we have a terrific venue in Elsecar Heritage Centre to put on a big, big performance!

“It promises to be an enthralling hybrid of a theatrical show and a choir performance.

“Things will kick off with ‘Away In a Manger’ and in the show’s journey through life we will have songs like ‘When I Grow Up’, from Matilda; Abba’s Money, Money Money; the theme from Friends; Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight.

“I sing Saturday Night’s Alright For fighting’ by Elton John!”

‘A Circle of Life’ is being staged at Building 21, Elsecar Heritage Centre on Saturday, December 7. There are two performances, a matinee at 2.30pm (doors open at 1.30pm), and an evening show at 7.30pm (doors open from 6.30pm). Tickets are priced £12.
